The story of how Tintin came to be is a bit of a mystery. The creator of the Belgium comic character was done by a little heard of comic writer Herge. In the end, he released very little information about the character.
Like many famous comic characters, Tintin has captured the hearts and imaginations of people all over the world. Tintin’s antics and performance can’t even be matched by all the Hardy Boys put together. Not only is Tintin extremely athletic and adventurous in his tales, he is also very intelligent and resourceful. That combination makes his adventurous more enticing and eventful.

Herge's name is even open to imply a sense of anonymity. His real name is Georges Prosper Remi. He was born in 1907, on May 22. He died just short of 80 years old in 1983. He was also responsible for a number of other semi-successful comics, but none equaling the fame and success of Tintin.

Character Creation and Personality

The character is scoured in secrecy. Tintin, unlike other young detectives, has no parents, no family, no one that ever steps in like a father figure and advices him. Only one of the episodes really gives a hint to his age, he actually enters a bar and has a beer! He lives in his own apartment with a pet dog, but the author still refers to him as a young boy.

The comic series never gets into Tintin’s past; only the current adventures he gets into seem relevant throughout the series. Almost nothing specific about Tintin’s past is ever revealed. One of the most revealing facts came when admitted to loving puzzles.

The character himself can be described as forgiving, curious, and persistent. He has a personality full of ideals, which not only earns him friends, but many different enemies. His forgiving attitude always helped him keep his cool, except in one case when Haddocks drunken acts of stupidity nearly cost the life of more than one of his friends.

Several people throughout his childhood inspired Herge. Herge’s younger brother inspired the earliest version of the character. Another inspiration for Tintin came in the form of a boy scout turned actor, Palle Huld. The character inspiration came from one place, but Tintin’s taste in clothes came from quite another.

One of Herge's college classmates wore nearly the exact same type of clothing as Tintin, making him the butt of many jokes around campus. What's the ultimate revenge for a nerdy college kid? Becoming an adventure icon, that's revenge. The popularity of Tintin has peaked with the upcoming film "The Adventures of Tintin".

The last thing we should look at is Tintin’s name. it’s such an original name that the origins should be easy to find out, right? Wrong, the name has no actual or hidden meaning, and it is not based on any historical or current personality.

The upcoming 2011 film, "The Adventures of Tintin", involve Tintin and Captain Haddock getting together to find a mysterious buried treasure, buried under the sea. By all rights, it’s theirs due to Haddack’s ancestor was the boat captain. All they have to do is find it and get away with it, something easier said then done.

The 2011 version of "The Adventures of Tintin" covers the screen with stars Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, and Daniel Craig. The film is going to be controlled by the famous Steven Spielberg and has the making of a Spielberg classic.
